Phytocosmetic Emulsion Containing Extract of Morus nigra L. (Moraceae): Development, Stability Study, Antioxidant and Antibacterial Activities

Morus nigra L. is a species popularly known in the Northeast of Brazil as “amora miúra”. This source flavonoids with antioxidant activity. Antioxidants play an important role preservation cosmetic formulations, and they neutralize free radicals. The objective this study was to develop topical emulsion containing leaf extract L., well evaluate stability, antibacterial activities formulations. A crude hydroalcoholic (70%) M. leaves (MnCE) submitted high-performance liquid chromatography diode-array detection (HPLC–DAD) analysis incorporated into anionic base emulsion. Antioxidant activity evaluated according DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl) method, stability formulation assessed for 90 days, submitting storage at 4, 20, 37 °C. Microdilution techniques challenge test microbiological stability. Analysis by HPLC–DAD identified rutin isoquercetin extract. plant presented activity, preserved terms pH value viscosity—which did not show significant changes, except spreadability, which affected temperature. change significantly, sample under 4 °C, showed considerable decrease antimicrobial considered stable organoleptic, physicochemical, properties.
